Expert discussion on the global economic outlook for 2017

The main theme of the 2017 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, is “Responsive and Responsible Leadership”. Once again, WEF founder Klaus Schwab and his team have put together a series of very high caliber panels. “Sometimes it seems that the world will be overwhelmed by pessimism and cynicism,” Schwab said at the start of the conference. “But we must be confident about the future.”

It will be interesting to see how confident the participants in this final-day panel discussion about the global economic outlook are. Six experts from the worlds of politics and business exchange their views, focussing on three main topics: growth in a time of low interest rates, the future of economic openness and the roadmap for emerging markets. The panellists are Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, the founder of BlackRock Laurence Douglas Fink, Head of the IMF Christine Lagarde, Martin Wolf of the Financial Times, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble and his British counterpart Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond.
